Say this often...If I Believe It, I Can Achieve It But I Will Never Give Up!
INSPIRATION
Being Blessed with a Purpose...Never Give Up!
Excerpt from Johnny Davis' Autobiographical Training Manual © 2002
My life has been filled with many blessings, marrying my wife, the birth of my three children and being raised by a loving mother that cared enough to allow me to pursue a dream. Along with this, I've been fortunate to have a life filled with friends, acquaintances and fans who help me accomplish my goals. I was fortunate to obtain most of my goals for Kickboxing, especially after setting them so high. Yes, I reached for the moon with the hopes of at least landing among the stars! Fortunate for me, the years of hard work and dedication would payoff. I believe it was part of my destiny to reach a certain level of success with kickboxing so that I could inspire and teach others through my experiences that their goals were also attainable. Although Kickboxing did not make me rich from a monetary perspective, I certainly became wealthy in spirit, self confidence, discipline and blessed with vision! Additionally, I was blessed with the gift of understanding my purpose in life. This combined with having the courage to pursue my dreams irregardless of the trials and tribulations I would endure are the best blessings one could have!
As a world champion kick boxer, I've felt the highest thrill of obtaining a lifelong goal as well as felt the agony of losing the dream in a matter of minutes. I know what it is to want something so bad and want it right then-only for it to seem as though it will never come! I know the pain of asking yourself daily; If I'm doing the right things and following the right path to eventually reach my goals? All of these emotions have taught me valuable lessons of patience, faith and strengthen my resolve to never give up!
One of my purposes for writing the Kickboxing Manual some years back was because somewhere out there I recognized there is someone else thinking...is it really possible for me to achieve my ultimate goal? Their goals might not be in Kickboxing but perhaps, becoming a professional basketball or football player; maybe a doctor or even the President of the United States etc. ...the question is there. Believe me, coming from a family of ten members, we didn't have much! We had to struggle and face many obstacles including the racism that suffocated the South in the late sixties! Nevertheless, we survived! One great man once said "through struggles comes strength". My family's experiences offered me levels of strength that some will never understand. Therefore, I feel I'm proof like so many others, regardless of your current situation, if you continue to strive... YOU CAN DO IT! "Believe It and You Can Achieve It!" One author resounds!
I'm now convinced with all of my heart that there is absolutely nothing one can't accomplish...Nothing! It is important to understand that some goals require more sacrifice then others. As long as one is willing to make necessary sacrifices, they can turn pipedreams into reality! At the tender age of twelve, I made a goal to become a world champion and at the age of twenty two, I would win my first world championship. Although, it was not easy, ten years of faith, sacrifice, discipline and hard work came to fruition as one of my ultimate goals in life was fulfilled!
Although the Manual was primarily focused on Kickboxing, one will miss the point if they only saw it as such. There is so much more to fighting then just getting in the ring and throwing (in this case) punches and kicks. The preparation alone for this type of combat requires such a spiritual connection with ones inner-self that the mere process is empowering whether one succeeds or falls short of their goal. However, each time you run the extra mile, do the extra push ups and sit ups or struggle to make the proper weight; Or, Stay up late to study and work longer hours on a special projects etc., you'll indulge another level of spirituality that will give you the power and confidence to know that if you are willing to make the sacrifices...you can do anything! Forward March!

Food for Thought to Live Life to its Fullest Potential
A Good Death
Many people look at death as something bad but it doesn't have to be a bad thing...its really all in the perspective. One that lived a life full of great memories and fulfillment could indeed have a good death. Death is inevitable and lacks our sense of timing. Therefore, we should live a life that is good in order that death might also be good as a result of what we leave behind. JD
Peaks and Valleys
Life is loaded with many peaks and many valleys...One's biggest challenge in life is to learn to be strong in the valley when things are tough and dark- knowing that tough times don't last but tough people do. And learning to be humble on the way up and, or at the peak when times are good and are getting better. Learning these lessons will help one to become stronger and more successful! JD
The True Test
The true test of a person is not in times of smooth water but instead those times when the water is rough. In times of rough waters is when you need to buckle down to your real character and focus on your goals. With this approach...more than likely, you will reach way beyond your original goals. JD
Forward March!
No Matter what you are going through in life...always move forward! Even when it feels like you have the weight of the world on your shoulders...move forward! ...Even when there seems to be no reason to live...move forward! ...Even when it seems like all love is gone...Move forward! The power of moving forward every minute and everyday even in the darkest of times will bring you great rewards and in the end, you will be aglow with the light of a prosperous world that awaits your re-entry! Forward March! JD
The Word!
In the beginning was the word and the word became flesh. Say it and you become it! Understanding the power of words is one of the most important things in life. You can affect yourself and others positively or negatively with your words. Think before you speak and use words that inspire and uplift yourself and others. You will find in using the positive power of words for others they will also empower you! JD
A Great Country...A Reason to Strive
Doors Open...
As you move through life pushing hard to try and accomplish your goals...doors will close that you thought were open. When you think you are almost there and you have done all that's in your power to get the big promotion, big marketing deal or something more personal than that...the door closes right in front of you and you feel alone and perhaps like a failure. But don't be dismay, as the old adage goes 'where one door closes another will open.' It will be important for you to stay focused and conscious of that door that will open. Letting your disappointment blind you of other potential opportunities is a big mistake. Be vigilant and you will see in the "hall of life" there are many doors and there is one waiting for you and has already and, or will open soon! JD
Time
May 08
Time is of the Essence and the Essence of time is Productivity...Those who use it wisest will be the most successful. Use as much time as you can being productive. When you waste valuable time doing none productive things...things that are counter productive to achieving your desired goals, you put yourself that much farther from them. JD
Power of Mercy
God Gives us the Power of Mercy, we just need to look within and find the strength to use this power when its most needed. JD Inspired by our family pet dog of 14 years... Dyllan, who we had to put down after he was diagnosed with Cancer earlier that week and was dying a slow and painful death. May he rest in peace 03/08.
